- General Installation
This project involved the installation of a premium-grade weatherstrip system. Unlike adhesive-backed versions, this screw-mounted solution offers long-term reliability and adjustment capabilities, making it ideal for high-traffic entryways and extreme weather conditions.
Completely stripped the door frame of old, degraded weatherstripping and adhesive residue to ensure a perfectly flat surface for the new mounting track. Measured the top and side jambs with exactness. The weatherstrip track was custom-cut to ensure a continuous, corner to corner fit that eliminates gaps at the top corners of the door.
To prevent splitting the door frame, precision pilot holes were drilled at pre-set intervals along the mounting flange. The weatherstrip track was secured using rust-resistant, color-matched screws. The track was positioned so that the flexible seal makes consistent, light contact with the door face when closed. Then ensured the screw-mounted vertical seals met seamlessly with the door bottom sweep
Finally, verified that the door latches smoothly without the need for excessive force, confirming the weatherstrip is correctly calibrated.
