- General Installation
This project involved the removal of a faulty flush lever and the installation of a new, side mounted chrome handle to restore full functionality to the toilet’s flushing system.
The existing lift chain was carefully detached from the flush arm to prevent damage to the flapper valve. The old, corroded, or slipping handle was uninstalled by removing the reverse-threaded mounting nut from the interior of the tank
A high-quality chrome-finished handle was installed through the tank’s side-mount port. The mounting nut was hand-tightened and then secured with tools to ensure zero play or wobbling during use.The internal plastic flush arm was positioned to clear the fill valve and float, ensuring it doesn’t snag on other internal components during the flush cycle.
The flapper chain was reattached to the new arm with the optimal amount of slack enough to allow the flapper to seal completely, but tight enough to trigger an immediate flush upon pressing the handle Performed multiple test flushes to verify that the handle returns to its neutral position and the water level refills correctly without “running”.
