This project involved the professional repair of a small, damaged section of drywall. The goal was to seamlessly patch the area, restoring the wall’s smooth finish and preparing it for paint.
The work area was cleared and protected with a drop cloth to contain dust and debris. A new drywall patch, slightly smaller than the opening, was cut. A backing piece of wood was placed behind the opening and screwed into the existing drywall.
All seams around the new patch were covered with drywall joint tape. Then three successive layers of joint compound were applied; each layer was allowed to dry completely before the next was applied. The final coat was meticulously sanded until the surface was perfectly smooth and flush, leaving no visible edges or imperfections.
Finally, all tools were gathered, and the work area was thoroughly cleaned, leaving the space ready for priming and painting.
