This job involved the custom cutting, fitting, and secure installation of decorative wood lattice panels to enclose the open space beneath an existing staircase, typically to enhance aesthetics, conceal storage, or improve safety.
The wood lattice sheets were measured and cut to fit the specific geometric sections of the framed area. The cuts often included complex diagonal angles (to match the slope of the stairs) and precise vertical and horizontal trims. Edging trim was applied to the perimeter of each cut lattice panel for a finished look and to prevent splintering.
The finished lattice sections were carefully placed into the pre-built frames and securely fastened using small finish nails or screws, ensuring the fasteners were placed discreetly. All exposed frames and lattice edges were caulked where they met the wall or floor to create a clean, finished appearance and prevent dust/debris from entering.
The open area beneath the staircase was successfully enclosed with custom-fitted wood lattice, resulting in a visually appealing, secure, and structurally stable surface that completely hides the utility space beneath the stairs.
