- General Installation
This project involved the precision installation of a continuous brass handrail system on a modern half-wall (pony wall) staircase, focusing on structural stability and a seamless visual transition.
The staircase half-wall was inspected to determine the most secure anchoring points for the rail brackets, ensuring the installation can withstand significant weight and pressure. Using laser leveling and precision measuring, the handrail height was calibrated to meet standard safety codes, providing a consistent and comfortable grip for the user.
- High-strength anchors were used to secure the decorative brass brackets directly into the wall substrate. The bracket spacing was strategically calculated to provide maximum support along the entire length of the rail. Each bracket was individually leveled and aligned to ensure the handrail maintains a perfectly straight run parallel to the stair tread incline.
- The brass rail was fitted into the bracket collars and secured with mechanical fasteners to prevent any rotation or sliding. Decorative end-caps were installed to provide a finished, rounded edge, eliminating any sharp points and enhancing the luxury aesthetic of the hardware. The brass finish was detailed and polished to remove installation marks, fingerprints, and oils, leaving a uniform, high-luster shine.A final tension and pull-test were performed to confirm that all mounting points are rigid and the system is fully secure for daily residential use.
