Drywall and Trim Repair in Brickell, FL

This project involved remediating a large-scale breach in a drywall partition adjacent to a door frame, requiring specialized internal reinforcement and precision trim replacement.

The project began with the removal of compromised drywall and damaged door trim to assess the underlying structure.  To ensure a permanent repair, custom wooden stud bracing was installed within the wall cavity. This provides a solid anchoring point for the new drywall patch, preventing the flexibility that often leads to future cracking.

All loose gypsum, old fasteners, and dust were cleared from the site to ensure optimal adhesion for the new materials. New moisture-resistant gypsum panels were custom-cut to fit the irregular breaches. The patches were mechanically fastened to the new internal bracing and existing metal/wood studs using high-tensile drywall screws, ensuring the new surface is perfectly flush with the original wall.

Multiple layers of compound were applied, with each layer feathered out significantly beyond the repair site to eliminate any visible “humps.The surface underwent a final fine-grit sanding process to achieve a Level 4 finish, making the wall perfectly smooth and ready for paint. Finally, the vertical door trim and horizontal baseboards were carefully realigned and re-installed.
