Drywall Repair and Baseboard Installation Doral, FL

This project involved restoring the structural and aesthetic integrity of a wall area affected by a significant breach near the floor level. We progressed from deep wall reinforcement to final baseboard installation

The existing damaged baseboard section was removed, and drywall debris was cleared from the immediate area to expose the wall cavity. Before repairing the surface, we installed a new internal wooden stud brace inside the wall cavity. This provides essential stability, serving as a secure anchoring point for the new drywall patch and preventing future wall sagging or shifting.

New moisture-resistant drywall was custom-cut and precision-fitted to the irregular opening.  The new sheetrock section was securely fastened directly to the newly installed wooden brace using appropriate screws, ensuring a flush surface with the surrounding wall, then ee applied fiberglass mesh tape to the seams to reinforce the joint between the old and new drywall, followed by multiple coats of high-strength joint compound.

Once cured, the entire area was mechanically sanded to a perfectly smooth, uniform texture, making the repair virtually invisible. We cut and installed new baseboard molding to match the existing profile. This required precision cuts to ensure tight, gap-free joints with the original adjacent trim.  A bead of painter’s caulk was applied to the top edge of the new baseboard for a water-resistant, integrated finish. All nail holes were filled and sanded.

Finally,  the newly repaired drywall and new trim were primed and painted with two coats to match the existing wall color and sheen perfectly.
