This project involved the complete repair and restoration of a closet door’s functionality by replacing the entire mechanical hardware kit.
All old, worn, or damaged components—including the top track, floor guides/pivots, and the rollers/pins attached to the door itself—were completely removed from the opening. The header and jambs were inspected for any damage and cleaned to prepare for the new hardware installation.
The new top track was cut to the precise length, leveled, and securely fastened to the closet header using appropriate screws. The new bottom guides, floor plates were installed, ensuring they were plumb and correctly aligned with the top track hardware. The new rollers were installed onto the top and bottom of the door panel(s).
Finally, the door was meticulously adjusted using the new hardware’s tension/height screws to ensure it was plumb, moved smoothly within the track, and did not drag on the floor or rub against the frame when opening and closing. The door was tested multiple times to confirm quiet, effortless operation, and that it closed flush and securely.
