The project focused on repairing the ground-level footer to prevent further erosion and applying a professional finish to match the existing architecture.
The area around the base of the stone-textured column was cleared of loose debris and old, cracked masonry. A new concrete “skirt” or footer was applied around the entire perimeter of the base. This new layer was hand-troweled to create a smooth, beveled edge that directs water away from the column. The repair reinforces the bottom of the column, protecting the decorative blockwork from impact and environmental wear.
The flat concrete cap at the top of the block section was cleaned and prepped for a new coating to match the new bottom repair. A high-quality, weather-resistant masonry paint in a professional taupe/brown tone was applied to both the new bottom footer and the top cap. The painting ensures a seamless, uniform look that covers the repair work and provides a protective barrier against moisture and UV damage.
The edges where the concrete meets the tiled floor were cleaned to ensure a sharp, professional transition. The column base is now fully restored and protected, featuring a clean, modern appearance that enhances the overall look of the facility.
